Comments on pictures

Well I still need to learn a lot about blogging. I don't know why the pictures are spaced so far apart, but after Christmas, I am going to get a book on blogging and learn more about making them presentable.

The first picture on the next post is some glass vintage ornaments I bought at Caring Hands and they were 10cents a bag, but all Christmas was 1/2 half, so I got all of them for 10 cents. They appear to be Mercury and I would have to date them in the 50s and 60s.

I got some presents in the mail and the little gingerbreads are the newest. I tried to do things a little different this year, but space requires some looking the same.

The vintage paper was used to wrap our gift from Chris and she has tons of it, so might have to beg a little to make me a squash book. She has already sent me a box of vintage cards and I will continue to post holiday things on this blog, so after Christmas, I will be posting pictures of how my Christmas collection began and the pics of the cards. Next year, I hope to do a vintage tree as I have some from my mom's collection, thrift finds and Al's gift from ebay. I will be searching for the old garland that was used when we were little and some light reflectors. I do have some of the flocked cheap ornaments of the 60s and 70s, so it will be a mixture.

I would like to say that I do enjoy displaying and showing my Santa House and when people come to visit and their mouths open wide, it brings me great joy. I even gave away a lot of things this year. My children would like some things but aren't ready to take them---mom's storage is cheaper for them.

I decided to not decorate the Red Hat tree this year and used it for our mom and dad ornaments, but the ones that are pairs I put on a memorial tree for mom and dad.

I have a lot of Nativity things, but the one I want the most, I just can't seem to find. I want a mice set and did find a cat Nativity at an airport gift shop, but found it was too pricey, but now regret not getting it. My most favorite one is the Fabrege egg Al bought me one year and the egg I found yesterday at Goodwill. I wish I had a better camera, because the picture does not do it justice.

The Santa-Checking His List was found at Goodwill for a $1.00 and it was selling on ebay and the book value is $185, but I doubt that it will be sold. I did find 7 others still in boxes from the 70s that are high in value and will think about selling them, so I can get some more vintage things.

I do hope you enjoyed the tour, even though only a few have been here, but you are important to me and I am grateful that you took the time to view my blog. Mom didn't take a lot of pictures of Christmas, unless someone has them---I only have 2, but wish there were more to post. We made paper garlands, strung popcorn and candy canes and made paper cutouts of snowflakes and other things.

Please send your friends here, but please don't send the white coats. Someone once told me that I was crazy, but yet this person's yard is so full of decorations that I don't see the difference---inside or out.

I wish you all the best Christmas ever and for those who believe or not believe, I hope you remember to keep Christ as your main reason for celebrating the holidays. I have nails hanging inside of each tree to represent the reason the tree was grown. I wish I knew how to put music to my blog, because the song, He grew the Tree, is a wonderful song. Love and Hugs, Pat

Entry way, not finished

I will finish the entry way tonight and repost the newer photos.
